A short circuit in the high-voltage battery could occur during initial charging due to a particle in the form of a welding bead.
This may trigger a chain reaction in the battery, increasing the risk of fire.
The Mini Countryman PHEV models affected by this recall were manufactured between 4 June and 16 July 2020.
